President Donald Trump’s mix of tax cuts and spending reductions could bring big changes on Long Island and across New York State.

Nassau and Suffolk receive $513 million in federal aid that funds day care, mental health and law enforcement initiatives on behalf of Long Islanders, for example, and Trump has repeatedly vowed to freeze federal funds to ensure they’re being used appropriately.

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency terminated leases for some 600 offices across the country, including a U.S. Fish and Wildlife law enforcement office in Valley Stream and a Small Business Administration office in Hauppauge.
