People on the Move: Long Island promotions, new jobs

Alan J. Schwartz, of Dix Hills, principal and managing attorney of the Law Offices of Alan J. Schwartz in Garden City and associate village justice in the Village of Centre Island, has been elected secretary of the Nassau County Magistrates Association in Williston Park.

Shirley Bornstein, of Port Washington, has been hired as a senior talent acquisition specialist at the Center for Wealth Preservation in Syosset. Bornstein was a talent acquisition specialist at Northwestern Mutual in Garden City.

Joseph Porter Jr., of Rochester, (will be moving to Long Island) has been hired as dean of the school of business at Molloy University in Rockville Centre. Porter was associate dean and director of the global business and leadership graduate program at Nazareth University in Rochester.

Dr. Ranjana Mehta, of Westhampton Beach, has been hired as an internal medicine physician at NY Health in East Moriches. Mehta owned her own practice in East Moriches.

David Braunschweiger, of Port Washington, has been hired as chief financial officer at W Services Group in Hauppauge. Braunschweiger was chief financial officer at CBRE in Port Washington. 

Maria Bohrer, of West Babylon, a retired reading specialist at Harding Avenue Elementary School in Lindenhurst, has been elected to the board of directors of the Alzheimer's Association Long Island Chapter in Melville.

Deborah Schiff, of Dix Hills, executive vice president, ambulatory at Northwell Health in New Hyde Park, has been elected to the board of directors of the United Way of Long Island in Deer Park.
